The Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing located in Wayesboro, Virginia is the only artistic blacksmithing trade school certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia. VIB offers beginning level weekend classes for hobby blacksmiths as well as a year long Certificate of Artistic Blacksmithing for those seeking to pursue a career in the field. VIB also offers weekend workshops in beginning bladesmithing and MIG welding. For more advanced students, there are annual week long intensive courses taught by visiting instructors from the States and abroad.
