This is a hand forged early American style camp knife. This knife was entirely made by hand forging using a coal forge and without the use of power tools. It was forged to shape hand filed and sanded using sanding blocks. The false edge was hand filed along with a roughly filed spine for texture. The guard and butt cap are are cast pewter, cast right on the knife and completed with a hand carved stag horn handle. Blade Measures 6"L X 1 3/8"W x 3/16" thick. Made from 1084 high carbon steel with a differential heat treat and edge quench. RC hardness :57
